Wall Clock

Wall Clock

Here is my submission for this week's photo challenge "Time Piece" with fellow blogger Ed.

I have been wanting to Shoot this clock in my living room for a while. I tried several combinations of external lighting for this shot and was not happy with any of the results.

I gave up and went down to the PC to review the photos. After doing some post processing I decided to change the image to black and white.

Check out Ed's blog to see how he interpreted the challenge.

Love That Bokeh

Love That Bokeh

What is Bokeh? Bokeh refers to the appearance and quality of the out-of-focus area in an image produced by the camera lens.

This is a picture of my Brother's daughter. She is just so adorable and made for an easy photographic subject. Picture was taken on my parents driveway and the gave great contrast as a background.

Jet Stream Blue

Jet Stream Blue

This is a shot of my Dad's 2008 Jet Stream Blue Corvette. What a car, it has 436HP and uses it to achieve acceleration unlike anything I have every experienced. It brings a smile to your face every time you mash the accelerator to the floor.

Comparing this 2008 to an 1986 My Dad used to own Chevrolet has come along way in its build quality, material quality and overall fit and finish. Not to mention bringing its performance in competition with super cars like Ferrari and Lamborghini all while keeping it under $70K.

Go Chevy!

Rusted Bridge

This weeks photo challenge with my fellow photographer Ed from Ed's Photography was to capture a photo of a Bridge!

Rusted Bridge

I changed the photo to Black and White. I think it helps with the trees in the background that are not in focus. I enjoy how the lines of the bridge lead you down to a central focal point.

Tulip Time

Tulip Time

Here in West Michigan it is Tulip Time.

These tulips are planted in our front yard around a maple tree. I laid on the ground and shot up at them. I enjoy how the Blue sky was captured behind the flowers providing that spring like feeling to the landscape.

Orange & White

Orange & White

Here is a picture of a butterfly from Frederik Meijer Gardens. This is one of several shots that was taken. I'll try and post others as this week continues.

I like how the butterfly is sitting on the leaf. I am so amazed at how clear my ISO 1600 is in this shot. The lighting is a challenge in this green house since its is either too bright or dark in the same scene.

Red C5 Vette

Red C5 Vette

This picture was taken at Red Robin Resturant in my Local Town. A local Corvette Club (West Michigan Crew) was there for one of there first outtings of the season. So how did I find out about this event, well my Dad. My Dad has a 2008 C6 Corvette (Not Pictured) and he was attending the event. So my interests in cars and photography was peaked so I "tagged along".

As the weather turns more spring like here in Michigan, I'll be taking Photos of my Dad's 2008 Vette. So be on the look out cause 436HP is on its way!

Running From The Camera

The results of my Running From The Camera Photo Challenge are IN!

Location: VanRaalte Farm Park, Holland, MI

1st Attempt

2nd Attempt

These shots were taken by setting a timer on my camera at 2 seconds and then running! Not so sure the camera captured me from my best side, but I did learn 2 seconds seemed quick.

I have to admit I had fun doing this, so did the people staring at me from the parking lot while I was trying to capture this. I wish there had been better weather and a less busy schedule to put more thought and time into this Challenge.

Don't forget to check out
Ed's results! Let us know what you think! (I think Ed's Is way better...I peaked!)

Dad's Fish

These fish were taken at my Dad's house. He has an acrylic tank and the reflections of the light off from it where very hard to minimize. Also the light in the tank leaves things looking odd colors. The fish are African Cichlids.
